ALLOYS FOR THE FUTURE - TO DAY!
HEA - HIGH ENTROPY ALLOYS
High entropy alloys (HEA) are alloys formed by mixing equal or relatively large proportions of (usually) five or more elements. Before the possibility to the synthesis of these substances, typical metal alloys consisted of one or two main components with minor amounts of other elements.
Furthermore, research indicates that HEA materials can have and get significantly better strength-to-weight ratios, with a higher degree of fracture resistance, tensile strength, and corrosion and oxidation resistance than conventional alloys.
AIR see a huge potential in a large number of applications and industrial areas such as ex.in state-of-the-art race cars, spacecrafts, new batteries, submarines, nuclear reactors, jet aircraft and hypersonic applications.
